William Cashin, Chairperson of the European County Board 2010 on this year’s ECB Finals:
On July 17th, all roads will lead to Switzerland where the European County Board 2010 – Hurling and Camoige County Finals are being hosted by Inneoin Zurich CLG.
This weekend – for continental based men and women players – will be the culmination of hard work and dedication in travelling great distances to play the games we love and cherish. Coaches, players, referees and administrators in both codes should take great pride in the season to date. The technical skills and performance standards are increasing year by year.
Separate ECB County championship titles are up for grabs as well as the chance to win the Inneoin Zurich Tournament Cup(s) for the tournament winners on the day in both codes.
You are cordially invited and indeed very welcome to send a team (even if this will be for some ECB clubs your first camoige or hurling tournament in 2010. If your club has individuals who wish to play, please do let ECB know and we will accommodate by blending players into teams so everyone can take part in this special day.
The county trophies and medals will be presented to the victorious county champions and runners up at the evening celebration in Zurich.
All in all, this promises to be a fantastic sporting weekend in our european gaelic games calender.
