#GAAyouth Forum 2015 takes place this Saturday 24th October in Croke Park
‘Your Voice, Your Lifestyle, Your GAA’
#GAAyouth is an initiative run by the GAA Youth Committee in order to listen to, respect and engage with the views of young people in the GAA.  The #GAAyouth Forum will be held on Saturday 24th October in Croke Park (10.30am – 4.30pm). The Forum is open to male and female club players in two age groups: 12 – 16 and 17 – 21.
The focus of the day will be on:
  • Healthy Lifestyle – the do’s and don’ts
  • Practical tips to improve your Game – debunking the myths around Strength & Conditioning
Workshops on the day are being developed by experts in the field including Brendan Egan (Sport & Exercise Science Lecturer/Sligo Footballer), Cathal Cregg (Connacht GAA S&C Advisor/Roscommon Footballer) and Michael Fennelly (S&C Lecturer/All Ireland winning Kilkenny Hurler).

Westmeath 1st year Blitz
50 girls took part in the Westmeath First Year Schools Cup organised by Regional Development Officer Lizzie Flynn. Loreto Mullingar who entered two teams on the day won the competition. Other schools who participated included Community College Mullingar, Castlepollard Community College & St. Joseph’s Rochfortbridge. Thanks to St. Lomans GAA Club for the use of their facilities & to the referees on the day. The winning team received the cup from Referee John Williams and were presented with t-shirts. Monaghan Upskilling Workshop
A Nursey Workshop took place on Thursday 15th October in Castleblaney with a great attendance from both camogie and hurling coaches. Thanks to Aidan kelly Monaghan GPO, Ryan Gaffner and Pauric Dowdall Ulster hurling coaches for their delivery of the upskilling workshop.

Fermanagh Primary School Blitz
Lisnaskea in Fermanagh hosted a very successful primary school blitz on Friday the  with over 150 girls attending many of whom were trying Camogie for the first time on Friday 16th October. Thanks to Fermanagh Games manager Phil O Connor for organising this event.
