Hard luck to the Dublin minors who put up a battling performance against Kilkenny in the Leinster final – well done to Pat Duncan, Paul Beecher and Irene Kirwan and all the players.

 

There were Juvenile Championship wins at the week-end for Lucan Sarsfields (U12A, U13A, U15A); St Vincents (U11A, U14A, U16A); Whitehall Colmcille (U12B, U13B), Skerries Harps (U11B), Good Counsel (U16B), Ballinteer St Johns (U14B).

 

Sincere appreciation to Naomh BrÝd for the use of their facilities.

 

County Convention will be on Saturday 28 November at Naomh Olaf’s Clubhouse in Sandyford.

 

A total of 140 children took part in Cumann CßmogaÝochta na nGael’s social inclusion project this year in Tyrrelstown. The project this year was run in conjunction with Fingal Integration Scheme. Children received coaching by qualified coaches in the morning and then took part in go games blitzes in the afternoon.

 

On a sunny day in Tyrrelstown the Mayor of Fingal Cllr Ciaran Byrne was the guest of honour and presented the children with their medals.

Prizes for an Art Competition depicting the theme of the day were presented by Regional Officer for Dublin Eve Talbot. Thanks must go to all the hard work of Tyrrelstown GPO Clare Dowdall and to the club itself for hosting the project. Our thanks also to the local schools Tyrrelstown Educate Together and Mulhuddart National School and their principals Maurice Hurley and Sr Carmel O’Halloran.

The Sport agus Spraoi initiative run by Cumann CßmogaÝochta na nGael in partnership with local secondary schools, local sports partnership, Camogie boards and a host third level college.It is aimed at increasing participation in the game and improving communications between parties thereby enhancing the profile of Camogie.

 

A total of 160 first year girls took to the field in UCD yesterday to take part in this year’s initiative in partnership with Dun Laoghaire Rathdown Sports Partnership. The day consisted of a skills for all session, which was delivered by some of the stars of the UCD Camogie team, a 10-a-side blitz in the afternoon and a teachers workshop.

 

All schools were presented with a pack at the end of the day by Dublin Inter County Player Alison Maguire, which included some sliotars for the school team, keyrings and promotional Camogie and UCD material.

 

Our thanks to UCD for hosting the event and to all the UCD Camogie team for helping the girls learn some new skills of the game. Also a special thanks to Shane McArdle and Dun Laoghaire Rathdown Sports Partnership in helping us provide schools with much needed equipment.

We hope we can continue to forge links with sports partnerships around the county to increase the number of girls participating in sport.
