Ulster Minor Camogie Championship Final
Antrim 3-14 Armagh 2-4

A brace of goals in the closing 10 minutes ensured that Antrim braved a determined Armagh challenge to take the Ulster Minor Camogie title at Kingspan Breffni Park on Sunday.
Goals from Maebh Laverty and Urshla McCotter inside a two and a half minute spell proved decisive, after Armagh had reduced a 10-point deficit to a four-point margin in the closing quarter.
The Orchard County trailed by 1-7 to 0-0 at that stage, after the Saffrons ran rampant early on with Laverty netting a ninth minute goal.
Joanne Mullen opened Armagh’s account with a point in the 25th minute, and goals either side of the interval, from Kirsty Sheridan helped spear-head an Armagh comeback.
A trio of Mullen points left just four points between the sides 10 minutes from the end, but Antrim dug deep late on.
16-year old Laverty was in sparkling form with the St John’s player netting her second goal, before Gort na Mona’s McCotter followed up soon after and suddenly there was double scores between the sides.
Antrim failed to let up with Laverty and Ruby Marie Rice on target for late points.
Despite the comfortable nature of the full-time score-line, Armagh were resilient throughout with some excellent displays throughout the field from defence to attack.
So Antrim finish the Ulster campaign as Championship winners while Armagh hold the Shield title.
For both the quest for All-Ireland silverware now begins, with the All-Ireland Series commencing next weekend.
