MSc in Sports Development and Coaching
The School of Sports Studies at the University of Ulster is pleased to announce the launch of an MSc in Sports Development and Coaching for September 2010.
The programme is the first of its kind on the island of Ireland. It offers students the opportunity to develop and apply social scientific ideas, concepts and knowledge to sports development and coaching and to develop professional practices that are informed by a critical understanding of sport.
The course aims to provide preparation for employment, career progression or change, or further study in the fields of sports development and coaching. It will benefit those considering (and currently in) employment in sports development, sports coaching, community sports and research/consultancy roles. Modules are taught by staff who have considerable, high-level experience in the Sports Development and Coaching Fields and who have extensive, international research experience in the social sciences of sport.
The course is available in both full-time (1 calender year) and part-time mode (3 years) and is taught on Thursday’s (2pm-9pm) and Friday (9am-12pm). Part-time students are required to attend on Thursday’s 2-9pm.
