Ladies Night at the Museum

Cumann Cam¾gaÝochta na nGael will take centre stage this Thursday night, January 28 as the Croke Park GAA Museum presents an evening recalling the rich history, events and personalities which have shaped camogie down through the decades.

Commencing at 7.30pm, Uachtarßn Cumann Cam¾gaÝochta na nGael Joan O’Flynn will address the contemporary challenges and issues facing camogie. Mary Moran, a former president of the Association and an acclaimed manager, player and honoured administrator will speak about the evolvement of the game of camogie and the factors which facilitated this.

The position of camogie within Ireland’s sporting culture will form the basis of a presentation by journalist and author Eoghan Corry who argues that the game has a far greater role in Irish sports history than people realise.
                                                                                                                                              
The evening will conclude with a panel of former camogie greats including the Downey sisters, Ann and Angela, who last week received the Irish Times/Irish Sports Council æLifetime Achievement Award’ for their inter-county careers, Eileen Duffy-O’Mahony, Mairead McAtamney- Magill, former Ard-sti·rth¾ir SÝle Wallace and past president Liz Howard, who will all be in attendance for a questions & answers session.
