‘Céad míle fáilte’ or ‘the land of 100,000 welcomes’ would be a phrase familiar to many, and while CLG Chábán tSíle don’t quite literally live up to that idiom, the south Dublin club does come pretty damn close.

The warm nature of the community can be felt as soon as you step foot inside the Kilbogget grounds, with a welcome sign greeting people in English as well as Irish, but also the several other multinational languages that play a part in the club as approximately 30% of the club’s juvenile membership have one or both parents born outside of Ireland. Their focus on incorporation doesn’t stop there however, with their diversity and inclusion officer, Aoife Rojack, exuding an infectious desire to have a ‘Gaelic games for All’ not only in theory, but in practice too.
