A much improved second half display saw Cork begin to take control from the restart. Sinead Gallen and Celia O Driscoll had pointed before Aine O’ Donovan struck for Cork’s second goal. Waterford struggled to go the distance as Cork began to up the pace with Sinead Gallen hand passing to the net before Aine O æDonovan was on hand for a fourth Cork goal finishing smartly as the ball rebounded off the upright and into her path. Katie Harrington and Aine O’ Donovan pointed before Una Jackman had a Waterford goal in reply to Sinead Gallen’s fifth goal for the Rebels.
Totally in control Cork were now rampant and they had a sixth goal from Kate Harrington before Katie Healy and Shauna Kirwin exchanged points on a day when Waterford failed to match the excellent second half display from a determined Cork side.
As Cork are an “”A”” graded county they are unable to contest the B All Ireland series therefore it’s the end of the road for this side but Waterford will go on to participate in the B All- Ireland championship.
