The Camogie Association is heartbroken to learn of the passing of Ciara Mageean.
Speaking on behalf of the Association, Uachtarán an Chumainn Camógaíochta Brian Molloy said:
“On behalf of all our members, I extend our deepest condolences to Ciara’s husband Thomas, parents Christopher and Catherine, and all her family and friends at this very difficult time.
“In her all too short life, Ciara touched the hearts of so many. She was a great friend of Camogie, both as a player and a supporter. She referenced that in arguably her finest moment on the track, after she won gold at the 2024 European Championships.
“Her self belief and commitment to her craft will always be inspirational, and she will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
“Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam dílis.”
