President visits primary school in Belfast
Aileen Lawlor President of the Camogie Association paid a special visit to St. Michael’s Primary School on the Ravenhill Road on May 8th in support of the School’s efforts in promoting Camogie and Hurling at Primary School level in South Belfast.
 
 
Camán to Connacht- celebrating 110 years of Camogie
To celebrate 110 years of Camogie there will a blitz day for under 12 clubs in each province. The aim is to obtain a large stadium to run these events in each province in celebration of camogie’s birthday. The first of these days is on Monday 2nd June in Pearse Stadium for Connacht clubs. All under 12 clubs have been invited to Pearse Stadium Galway on the day where they will play other teams in a blitz. To register your club to play on the day contact cmurray@camogie.ie. Closing date for registering your club is Friday 23rd May.
Details of other provincial dates will be sent to clubs in relevant provinces over the summer.
 
 
 
Leinster Provincial Blitz
17 under 14 teams took part in a very successful Leinster blitz in Portlaoise last weekend run in conjunction with the Gael Linn competition. 11 counties in Leinster took part on the day.

Hurl Smart Week- 2nd -8th June
Last chance to register your club for Hurl Smart Week. Closing date this Friday 23rd May. The Camogie Association in conjunction with the Nutrition and Health Foundation are running their annual Hurl Smart Week form the 2nd-8th June.
 
Run a ‘Hurl Smart Week’ in your club and be in with the chance to bring your club camogie under 12 team to Croke Park in October!
Just register your clubs interest, run a ‘Hurl Smart Week’, submit a report of events and you could be in with a chance to play in Croke Park.

A Cumann na mBunscol Blitz took place in Bray Emmets in Wicklow on 21st May with 5 school and 70 girls participating.

Lenovo Skills Hub
This Gaelic games initiative sponsored by Lenovo is a mixed camp for teenage boys and girls aged 13-15 years. Top inter county players will coach on the Lenovo skills hub for the 4 days. The hurling/camogie camps take place in Carlow, Dublin, Offaly, Clare, Waterford, Cork, Limerick Wexford and Tipperary. Details below of locations and female camogie player involved in camp.

Westmeath Cumann na mBunscol Finals
The Finals of the Cumann na mBunscol took place in Cusack Park on 19th May last. Gaelscoil an Mhuilinn beat St. Ernan's from Delvin in the Division 3 camogie final. In the Division 2 Final St. Colman's NS defeated Rathwire NS.
The Division 1 final was an exceptional game with Loughegar going for 5 in a row but Raharney NS put an end to the 5 in a row dream winning out on the day with only 1 point to spare.

Coaching Course Offaly & Coaching workshop Laois
13 coaches from Tullamore, Drumcullen and new clubs Brosna Gaels attended a foundation course in Offaly on 17th May 2014. In addition coaches from new club Banríon Gaels in Laois attended the course held in Tullamore.

A basic skills workshop took place in Banrion Gaels camogie club in Portarlington. This is a new club in Laois with 9 coaches taking part in the session which included fun games and basic skills coaching.
