Sunday July 26th
Liberty Insurance Senior Camogie Championship Group 2
Clare v Derry, Cusack Park, Ennis, 2.30pm, Referee: Cathal Egan
This is a must-win game for Clare, as a win is the only result that will see them maintain a chance of making it to the quarter-finals. Derry meanwhile will be looking to put some points on the board for the campaign, and know that a win will see them avoid bottom spot in the group.
Both sides come into the match looking to avenge defeats last weekend, where Derry lost to Dublin, and Clare were well beaten by an impressive Tipperary side. Clare ran out comprehensive winners when the two sides met in the National League and will be looking for a repeat performance on Sunday.
Should Clare win, they will finish level in 3rd place with Dublin on 3 points, and therefore lots will be drawn to decide which team qualifies to the quarter-finals as both sides would be level on all other qualification criteria.
Saturday July 25th
Liberty Insurance Intermediate Camogie Championship
This weekend sees a crucial round of fixtures as we’re past the half-way point of the group stages in the Intermediate Championship. In Group 1 Cork face Down, knowing that a win for the Revel County will ensure their place in the semi-finals, whilst Down will be looking to also reach the knock-out rounds but must win this game to have any chance. Elsewhere in group 1 Galway face Meath with both sides looking to add to the one win they both have at this stage to set themselves up with a great chance of reaching the semi-finals.
In Group 2 Kilkenny and Waterford will showdown in Walsh Park, with both sides knowing that a win will guarantee them a place in the semi-finals alongside table topping Kildare who have already secured their place in the semi-finals. Should the sides draw, then matters will be in Waterford’s own hands going into their final game where a draw or better would then see them make the semi-finals.
Sunday July 26th
Liberty Insurance Premier Junior Camogie Championship
The Premier Junior Championship enters a crucial round of matches as sides battle it out for semi-final places and placing within the group. Group leaders Laois will be looking to secure top spot against 3rd placed Roscommon who will be looking to take a big step towards securing a semi-final spot. Second placed Dublin will also be looking to secure a semi-final spot against an Armagh side who are currently in the final qualification place and need a win to maintain their chances. At the bottom of the group Westmeath will be hoping to give their qualification chances a major boost with a win over a Limerick side who realistically need to win to give themselves a chance of qualifying on the final weekend of group matches on the bank holiday weekend.
