It was another busy weekend of camogie action as the provincial championships got underway.

In the AIB Munster Senior Championship, there were wins for St Finbarr’s (Cork) and Clanmaurice (Kerry).

In a meeting of the last two defeated All-Ireland finalists, the Barrs overcame Truagh Clonlara of Clare on a scoreline of 4-10 to 1-12.

An Orlaith Cahalane hat-trick proved crucial, as the Togher outfit progressed to set up a semi-final showdown with Thurles Sarsfields next weekend.

Meanwhile, Clanmaurice enjoyed a historic first senior victory in the province, as they edged Newcastlewest of Limerick after extra-time, 1-6 to 1-13.

The Kerry outfit – playing in the Munster Senior Championship for just the second time – delivered a remarkable display, as Jackie Horgan top-scored with 1-8.

Orlaith Cahalane scored 3-2 for the Cork city club

The AIB Ulster Senior Championship was due to throw-in this weekend too, but Swatragh vs Clonduff was postponed, and has been refixed for next Sunday.

One game which did go ahead in the northern province saw Loughgiel overcome Edendork, 1-8 to 0-7 in the Ulster Junior A Championship.

Meanwhile, Sarsfields booked their ticket for the AIB All-Ireland Senior Championship semi-finals, after reclaiming the Windows & Rooflights Galway Senior A Championship title. The 2024 All-Ireland winners had too much for Oranmore Maree in the decider, winning 3-17 to 0-10.

Sarsfields will play the Munster champions in the last four on the weekend of 28/29 November.

Elsewhere, Oran returned to the summit in Roscommon, as they claimed the county title with a 2-5 to 0-2 win over Athleague.

Reigning AIB All-Ireland Intermediate Championship winners Camross saw their hopes of back-to-back titles ended in Leinster. The Laois representatives were upset by Mount Leinster Rangers of Carlow, who prevailed 1-5 to 0-6.

There was better news for the O’Moore County in the Junior A grade, as Clough-Ballacolla defeated Dunderry, 2-7 to 1-6.

In Junior B, Aughrim were too strong for Kildavin-Clonegal, winning 0-15 to 1-1.
