Sunday, February 28th – Irish Daily Star National League Division 1 Previews
Division 1 Group 1
Clare v Offaly
Clare have had to wait a week for their first outing under new manager Patricia O’Grady, and they will be looking to improve on a disappointing 2015 All-Ireland championship in which they failed to advance from their group stage. Offaly meanwhile got their campaign off to an impressive start last weekend with a good win over Dublin and will be looking to follow that up with another win on Sunday.
Referee: Cathal Egan Venue: Corofin GAA Throw-in: 2pm
Dublin V Galway
Dublin will be hoping to bounce back from a disappointing opening day defeat to Offaly last weekend as they face the reigning league champions. Galway will be high in confidence coming into this match following a resounding win over Tipperary last weekend as they look to continue their impressive undefeated run in the League competition.
Referee: Owen Elliott Venue: DCU Centre of Excellence Throw-in: 2.30pm
Tipperary V Wexford
Tipperary will be hoping to bounce back from a heavy loss to a strong Galway side last weekend as they look to get their campaign back on track. Wexford meanwhile have had to wait a week to get their campaign underway and will be looking to build on a strong showing in 2015 which saw them narrowly miss out on an All-Ireland Final place, losing by a single point to Galway.
Referee: Alan Lagrue Venue: Cloughjordan GAA Throw-in: 2pm
Division 1 Group 2
Derry V Cork
Derry will be looking for a much improved display against the All-Ireland champions following a heavy defeat against Kilkenny last weekend. Cork too will be out to make amends for their defeat to Limerick last weekend in what was the shock result of the opening round of matches.
Referee: Karl O’Brien Venue: St. Patrick’s GAA, Loup Throw-in: 2pm
Kilkenny v Waterford
Kilkenny come into this match high in confidence following a high scoring win over Derry last weekend in their first match under their new manager Ann Downey. Waterford will tog out for their first match at Senior level in what looks set to be a tough introduction to the highest echelon of Camogie.
