Previews – Liberty Insurance All-Ireland Senior Championship Round 4

Saturday July 15th

Liberty Insurance All-Ireland Senior Championship, Group 2

Offaly v Cork

Offaly will be looking to bounce back from their recent defeat to Wexford as they welcome table toppers Cork to St. Brendan’s Park. This group is still all to play for and Manager Paddy Kirwan knows that a win for Offaly could prove crucial as it piles the pressure onto Wexford, Limerick and Tipperary. A win for the Rebels will secure them top spot in the group and will see them advance to the All-Ireland Semi Finals. Cork have been very impressive so far and will hope to continue this form into the knockout stages as they aim to go one better than last year and take home the O’ Duffy Cup.

Wexford v Tipperary

This is a crunch tie in Group 2 with both teams still hoping to make it to the knockout stages. However, it is Wexford who are in poll position having picked up a vital win over Offaly in their opening match. Wexford faced a heavy defeat against Cork in their last outing but will look to put that behind them this weekend with a much needed victory. Tipperary are still looking to register their first points of the campaign after facing defeats to Cork and Limerick. Though, a win this weekend for Brian Boyle’s side would put them back into contention for a spot in the top three.
