CIE Transport Gaels 125
As part of next Saturday’s 125 CIE Transport Gaels celebrations at Croke Park a media selection will face a team from the Oireachtas with proceeds from the attendance being donated to Special Olympics Ireland and Alzeimers Ireland.
Former Kerry footballer and multiple All-Ireland winner Minister Jimmy Deenihan TD will head up a Dßil team that will include such luminaries as Eamonn Coughlan, Peter Fitzpatrick and John O’Mahony.
In opposition will be Martin McHugh’s media selection. Included in their ranks will be Jarlath Burns, Eoin Liston, Pat Gilroy and renowned referee Pat McEneaney who will appear in a playing capacity. Assistant Garda Commissioner John Twomey will officiate.
Throw in at Croke Park for the game is at 4.30pm and tickets for the Cusack Stand can purchased at gaa.ie and from the back of the Cusack Stand on the day costing €10 for adults and €5 for children.
Other games on the bill on the day include a camogie match and a hurling game involving CIE’s neighbours Liffey Gaels. Transport Gaels will face Translink Gaels from the north before the meeting of the media and Oireachtas selections.
