Job Advertisement – National Competitions Administrator
 
The Camogie Association is seeking applications for the position of National Competitions Administrator to join its national office.
 
The Camogie Association is a professional, dynamic and vibrant organisation. Founded in 1904, it is one of the oldest female sports organisations in Ireland with over 573 clubs in Ireland and more internationally as well as over 100,000 members.
 
The Role
The National Competitions Administrator will report to the Operations Co-ordinator. The main responsibility of the role is the planning and administration of all elements of national fixtures of the Camogie Association. The post operates in a team environment and the successful candidate will be expected to work in a collaborative way with staff and volunteer colleagues.
 
Responsibilities of the National Competitions Administrator:
National Competitions
  • Prepare, finalise and administer all elements of the annual national fixtures schedule
  • In conjunction with the Operations Co-ordinator, ensure that all necessary arrangements are in place for the smooth running of all national fixtures
  • Issue official notifications of fixtures in a timely manner and in accordance with the rules of the Association, to all relevant parties
  • Confirmation of the appointment of match officials for national fixtures and administration of their expenses
  • Ensure the availability and maintenance of national trophies and the supply of medals for all appropriate competitions
PR of National Competitions
  • Liaise with the Operations Co-ordinator and Communications Manager to administer any necessary PR elements relating to national fixtures, including on the Association’s Website and Social Media channels and arrangements for match broadcasting.
  • In conjunction with the Communications Manager plan and manage the production of match programmes for key national fixtures
Liaison with and administrative support to National Committees
  • Provide administrative support to and act as a member of the Association’s National Competitions Committee
  • Provide administrative support to the Association’s National Transfers, Hearings & Disciplinary Committee
  • Liaise with other relevant Committees and stakeholders within the Camogie Association, GAA, LGFA etc.
Event Management
  • Act as event pitchside co-ordinator for key national fixtures
  • Lead organiser for the Annual Presentation Dinner for members of the National Referees’ Panel and presentation of medals to All-Ireland Final Referees
  • Participate in project teams related to other events e.g. All-Ireland Finals, Annual Congress, All-Stars Awards etc. as required
Undertake any other duties as requested by the Operations Co-ordinator or Ard Stiúrthóir
 
Person Specification:
 
Essential criteria
Education & Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Experience of working in a cross-functional, team-based environment
  • Experience of working to deadlines
Skills
  • Excellent IT Skills, particularly in Excel & Office365 software
  • Strong Planning and Organisation skills
  • Strong Communication and Interpersonal skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to problem solve and exercise appropriate judgement and decision making
 
Desirable criteria
 
  • Knowledge of and interest in Gaelic Games (particularly Camogie)
  • Experience of working with community and voluntary organisations, especially in the sports sector is an advantage
  • Ability to work on own initiative
Terms and conditions
  • The post will be based in the Camogie Association’s Head Office in Westward House, Croke Park, St Joseph's Avenue, Dublin 3
  • From time-to-time the post requires an element of working unsocial hours including weekend work and travel.
  • The appointment will be a permanent position with a 9-month probation period
  • Employees are required to work 39 hours a week. The National Fixtures Administrator will be on occasion required to work unsocial hours including weekends. From time to time travel will also be required
  • The successful applicant must have a clean driving licence; her/his own transport and will be required to comply with Garda / Access NI vetting clearance in advance of taking up the position
  • Remuneration will be subject to annual review as outlined in the Association’s Employee Handbook. The remuneration for this appointment will be attached to a salary scale ranging from €25,000 – €32,100 with appointment usually commencing on the first point of the scale
  • Expenses such as travel, overnight accommodation where required and other allowable expenditure will also be paid
  • The Association will make a matching contribution of either 3% or 7% pension subject to employee contribution.
  • Annual leave entitlement of 23 days per annum. In addition, there is additional annual paid leave in the period Christmas Eve/New Year.
  • The Association operates a time in lieu facility (TOIL) for work in excess of weekly contracted hours.
