All-Star and Soaring Star Awards 2016
Ard Chomhairle has reviewed and decided on the format for the 2016 Annual All-Star and Soaring Star Awards.

The Awards are announced in November each year and presented at the All-Stars Banquet in City West, Saggart, Dublin.

This year’s event is on Saturday 5th November, again in City West.

For the All-Star Awards – there will be 15 awards presented to players from the All Ireland Senior Championship and National League final stages, drawn from 45 nominations.

For the Intermediate Soaring Stars, there will be awards to the 6 most outstanding players from the Championship, drawn from 18 nominees.

For the Soaring Stars, there will be awards to the 6 most outstanding players from the Premier Junior Championship, drawn from 18 nominees.

Criteria for selection of players in 2016
Player skill level 30%, effectiveness 35%, work rate 20% and role model/sportsmanship 15%. Players which serve a suspension arising from a disciplinary matter will be excluded from consideration for an award.

Criteria for Manager of the Year in 2016
Managers must be registered with the Camogie Association before the first round of their teams’ championship; those not registered or who register after the start of the championship season will not be considered for the award.

Two main criteria are:
a) progress of their team from league final to completion of championship (50%) and
b) role model/sportsmanship displayed (50%); similar to the criteria for players, i.e any manager who serves a suspension arising from a disciplinary matter will be automatically excluded from consideration for an award.
