The Camogie Association are currently seeking applications for Coach Developers.
The course is aimed at coaches who currently possess a Level 2 coaching qualification or equivalent in training or education and would like to tutor Camogie coaching courses.
The programme will be based in Limerick and will start on September 5th and 6th 2020. Coaching Ireland are now seeking nominations put forward by the Camogie Association.
Applicants must be available for all the following course dates or their application will not be accepted:
Weekend 1 – September 5th & 6th 2020
Weekend 2 – October 3rd & 4th 2020
Weekend 3 – October 31st & November 1st 2020
Weekend 4 – December 28th & 29th 2020
Weekend 5 – January 9th & 10th 2021
Cost of the Course
At the time of writing the total cost of the course is €1,000 per person. 25% is payable by the successful applicant and 75% is payable by the Camogie Association.
Duration of the Course
The Level 2 Coach Developer course consists of ten contact days (usually 5 weekends, one per month for 5 months) followed by a work placement with the Camogie Association which typically takes between 6 and 18 months. The total length of training therefore is 1-2 years.
Requirements for acceptance onto the Course
• Minimum of Level 2 coaching award or equivalent in training or education
• Actively coaching for at least five years.
• Must be a registered member of the Camogie Association, GAA or LGFA.
• Must be available for at least two weekends per quarter, per year to deliver courses.*
*Successful candidates will be expected to fulfil quarterly goals set by the Camogie Association, therefore, availability during the Camogie calendar year is essential.
