Pamela and Katrina Mackey (UCC and Cork)

Ashbourne Cup Semi-Final v Mary I

The Mackey twins have been laying waste to opposition defenders and forwards wherever they have gone, be it for Douglas, Cork or UCC.

Pamela is the complete defender, whose marking skills are renowned. Invariably, she is given the task of nullifying the opposition’s major scoring threat and more often than not, it is a task she carries out successfully.

She is also a skilful operator however, good in the air and on the deck and has been known to link up well with Katrina, who plies her trade at the opposite end of the field.

Katrina is lightning quick and relishes the direct route, with goals invariably the first aim, and points taken only when the major option no longer exists. Her directness tends to draw many frees.

The siblings have shared four All-Stars, both received the same year, making history in 2012 and repeating the feat at the end of last season, a year in which they both bagged their second All-Ireland senior medals with Cork.
