The Camogie Association and the Ladies Gaelic Football Association in conjunction with the GAA and the Co.Tipperary Education Centre are holding a primary teacher in-service course from Monday 4th July to Friday 8th July in Gaelscoil Bhride, Thurles from 9.30am to 2.00pm
The course ‘The role of Gaelic Games in the Curriculum: A beginners approach will focus on aiding teachers in coaching the fundamental skills of Gaelic Games in primary schools to mixed ability class groups. A background in Gaelic Games coaching is not necessary – interest and enthusiasm are the only requirements!
Programme Content:
? Planning, designing and implementing a coaching programme
? Hurling/Camogie and Mens/Ladies Football skills coaching workshops
? Dealing with children with special educational needs in a PE situation
? Early Childhood PE Programme – Nursery and Fundamental stages in Skill Development
? Maximising use of Ceim ar Aghaidh and FUN DO resources in school setting
? Introduction to coaching Handball
? School Yard games and GO GAMES – maximising available space, all-inclusive small sided conditioned games
