Galway begin All Ireland defence against former holders Wexford
 
All Ireland Champions Galway will begin the defence of their title at home to Wexford while finalists Kilkenny entertain Offaly in the opening round of the Liberty Insurance Camogie championship on June 21st as announced in the Camogie Association national fixture plan for 2014. 
 
Galway, who claimed this year’s senior title, their first since 1996, face a challenging series of round robin games against former holders Wexford, Dublin and Cork. Tony Ward’s charges will be hoping to collect maximum points and secure their passage to the Liberty Insurance Senior semi-finals on August 23rd.  Kilkenny must win crucial round games against Offaly, Tipperary, Clare and Derry to proceed directly to the semi-final stages. 
 
Kildare, winners of this year’s Premier Junior crown will play in the Liberty Insurance Intermediate championship next season and face a tough opening game against this year’s finalists Limerick on Saturday June 21st. In the Premier Junior championship, finalists Laois will be intent on getting their campaign off to a good start with a home game against Dublin who gained promotion after winning the Junior A crown earlier this year. 
 
Cork, defending Irish Daily Star League champions entertain Dublin in their opening game on Sunday February 23rd. Wexford, who were defeated in the Division One final, begin their league campaign on March 9th with a home tie against Dublin. 
 
This year’s Irish Daily Star League Finals, across all four grades, take place on May 4th while the Liberty Insurance All Ireland Camogie finals triple header (Senior, Intermediate and Premier Junior) take place in Croke Park on Sunday September 14th. 
 
The first competitive camogie action of the 2014 season will begin with the AIB All Ireland Senior and Intermediate Camogie semi-finals on Sunday February 2nd. 
 
In the AIB Senior Club Championship, Kilkenny outfit Mullinavat play Ardrahan of Galway and Eoghan Rua (Derry) face defending club champions Milford of Cork. In the Intermediate championship Ballyhale Shamrocks of Kilkenny play Portuma of Galway and Liatroim Fontenoys (Down) face Lismore (Waterford). The AIB All Ireland Senior Club Final will take place in Croke Park on Sunday March 2nd with the Intermediate scheduled for the same day. 
 
The 2014 Ashbourne Final will take place in Queen’s University Belfast on February 16th as part of the Queen’s GAA festival with all third level Gaelic Games finals taking place in the Belfast venue in February and March.
