It was Skills galore in Rathgarogue / Cushinstown Camogie Club on Saturday 26th September. An initiative which saw the 5 new Camogie Clubs set up over the past 2 years in Wexford participate in a Skills Session for all U10s, U 12’s and U14 age groups.
The clubs which participated in this Skills day were Geraldine O’Hanrons, Davidstown/ Courtnacuddy, Fethard St Mogues, Horeswood and Rathgarogue / Cushinstown.
With the progress made in Wexford over the past two years it is vitally important to ensure that all new clubs set up are being catered for each of their specific needs. This Skills day was targeted for these new clubs to increase their skill levels in every way possible and to help them to progress a little more each year. On the day every skill of Camogie was coached to the highest of standard.
The Skills day itself was split into 3 sections with the U10’s session from 10 – 12 noon, the U12’s from 12.30pm – 2.30pm and finally the U14’s from 3pm – 5pm.
There were experienced coaches there on the day to pass on their knowledge of the game coming from a variety of different clubs throughout Wexford to coach. There were a total of 163 camogie players from the 5 different clubs participating in the Skills day and it all ran off very smoothly.
The sun was shining all day long and this was an added bonus on the day, which allowed the format to run through smoothly with no interruptions.
A huge Thank You to the parents of the Rathgarogue / Cushinstown club who all so kindly donated plenty of sandwiches, cakes, buns and goodies for all visitors on the day.
Well done to Rathgarogue / Cushinstown Camogie Club who organised the running of the day along with Wexford Camogie County Board, Noel Wilson and RDO Jenny Duffy.
Welll done to all involved and well done to those that participated, a great day was had by all.
