Sligo IT hosted a camogie day for national schools in Sligo on tursday the 7th October. This day was organised by Sligo Cumann na mBunscol and the Camgie Association and in conjunction also with Sligo Sport and Recreation partnership. 5 schools attended with over 70 girls participating. Students from Sligo IT hurling and Camogie teams coached on the day and a number of fun blitz games were organised for the schools. The schools that attended were Rockfield, Geevagh, Kilross, Gaelscoil and Castlerock. Teachers attended a caoching workshop during the morning provided by Clare star and munster development officer Deirdre Murphy.
All girls enjoyed their camogie experience and will get the opportunity to participate in more days like this both in this term and next.
