Carlow 3 Day Camogie Easter Camp for 7 – 11 year olds and the Lifestyle, Performance Development Programme for 12 – 16 years were together held in McGrath Park Bagenalstown on Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday of last week. There was an excellent turn out for this Camp with a total of 73 girls attending over the course of the 3 days. The Easter Campers learned the skills of Camogie with the emphasis on fun and participation. While the older girls learned skills through advanced coaching techniques, with priority on the principles of Attack & Defensive play. Included in this Camp was a module on Nutrition & Diet, Fitness Testing and Teenage Retention – which proved very interesting on the day.
The girls all played in glorious sunshine and thoroughly enjoyed the 3 days. It proved to be a very successful 3 development for Carlow Camogie and a huge Thank You must be given to Mick Lillis Carlow County Development Officer and McGrath Park for the use of their top class facilities.
