Limerick’s CPD (County Participation Day) took place in L.I.T. on the 6th of October 2009. 89 students from 6 different secondary schools braved the wet conditions in L.I.T to exhibit some excellent Camogie skills. Schools represented were: Hazelwood, SMI, Gaelcholaiste, Croom, Castletroy and St. Marys (Newport).
All schools must be complimented on their enthusiasm throughout the day. Congratulations must be extended to the Gaelcholaiste as it is the 1st year the school has participated in Camogie. We hope they continue to play and enjoy the sport.
This CPD was also the 3rd module of the Referee’s Green Card initiative and all referees performed excellently.
A special mention must be given to these students who volunteered to Referee Ballyagran Camogie Club’s fundraising blitz held on the 26th of September in aid of the Children’s Hospital in Crumlin.
A huge thank you to Seoirse Bulfin, Eddie O Sullivan and the staff of L.I.T. for the use of their fantastic facilities and for their continuous support.
Well done to all schools who participated on the day and congratulations to the TY Referees on the completion of the Green Card Course.
Finally thank you to Una Kearney (Referee Tutor ) for the high standard of training given to the TY students and Deirdre Murphy (Munster RDO) for her assistance on making the above a huge success.
