Camán to Connacht 2019
The annual Camán to Connacht day for u12 club players took place last Saturday, June 1st, in Pearse Stadium, Galway. With 41 teams attending on a lovely sunny day, it was a jam-packed day of camogie for all. A high level of skill and determination was on display which showcased the level of work going into club underage across the clubs. 130 games took place over the course of the day and 654 young players took to the fantastic pitches of Pearse Stadium. Each club played between 3 and 4 games in total against clubs from other counties across the province. A massive well done to all the club players, mentors, coaches, parents, and referees who made an enormous effort to attend and represented their clubs in a very sporting, enthusiastic and positive manner all day. Special thanks to Galway GAA and to Pearse Stadium and to our P.A – Sean O'Toole, who kept the whole day running smoothly.
These clubs now enter the draw for Caman to Croker 2020 and for attending on the day, each club will be given the opportunity to redeem tickets to this year All Ireland Camogie Finals on Sunday 8th September.
Development blitz
Connacht schools held its final 7 a side blitz in Ballymacward on Monday May 27th. Schools from Galway and Roscommon took part on the day. Games were very competitive throughout with some great skill and commitment on show.
