To mark the jointly hosted Ashbourne and Purcell Cup third level camogie competitions Cork City Council are holding a civic reception today (Friday, February 19th) at 4.00pm.
Lord Mayor Dara Murphy will welcome sixteen captains representing institutions from all four provinces at City Hall to honour this historic occasion.
Uachtarßn Cumann Cam¾gaÝochta na nGael Joan O’Flynn, Ard Sti·rth¾ir SinÚad O’Connor, Uachtarßn Comhairle Chamogaiochta Ard Oideachas, Lynn Kelly, members of Munster Council, Cork County Board and management from Cork Institute of Technology will also be in attendance.
The Ashbourne & Purcell Cups were previously held on separate weekends and this year affords sports fan the opportunity to see the country’s top third level camogie teams battle it out for All-Ireland honours. Over five hundred camogie players, including a host of inter-county stars will be in action over the weekend with the Ashbourne and Purcell Cup finals scheduled for Sunday afternoon.
