Mick Dunne Media Awards sponsored by RT+
Cumann Cam¾gaÝochta na nGael today announced the winners of the 2008 Media Awards incorporating the Mick Dunne Memorial Awards sponsored by RT+. This is the third year of the awards, which recognise the outstanding contributions of various media outlets and their efforts to promote camogie. The recipients will be honoured at a function hosted by Liz Howard, President of Cumann Cam¾gaÝochta na nGael on Saturday night, March 14th in
Overall, winners in eight categories will be honoured. RT+ sponsor four specific awards in memory of the late Mick Dunne, former journalist/broadcaster with RT+. These are the awards for Broadcaster of the Year, PRO of the Year, Photo of the Year and Published Article of the Year. Mick, a native of Laois and father of RT+ newscaster Eileen Dunne, was passionate in the promotion of Gaelic Games. The remaining categories are: Best Match Programme, Best Provincial Newspaper Coverage, Best Local Radio and a new award this year the President’s Award.
