Inaugural Louth Camogie Star Awards

Louth Camogie ran a very successful inaugural Louth Camogie Star Awards on the 11th November in St. Kevin’s Community Centre. Building on some impressive work with the counties underage development squads, this was hopefully the first of many celebratory events going forward.  

 

 

This night was solely to recognise the great strides being made at underage, with special mention to the u14 squad who reached their first ever division final in the All Ireland blitz. Pat Martin, Leinster Camogie Chairman was the guest of honour and congratulated those involved in all aspects of the game in Louth and to the growth of the senior team also in the past couple of years.

 

Louth Chairperson, Lorraine Young emphasised the importance of each player representing their club and county with commitment and thanked all who help in the promotion of camogie from clubs, schools and the county. The awards were plentiful with 12 award categories in place, ranging from “Northern Star Award” to “Blaze a Trail Award”. 

 

 

Each category, including a coveted “Players Choice Award”, awarded two successful nominees from either the u14 or u16 panels and these were presented by Pat and Lorraine. The night was concluded with refreshments for all and a piece of well-earned Louth themed Cake!

 

 

Level 1 Coaching Course – Clare

22 talented coaches from Clare and Limerick attended a Level 1 course hosted by Cratloe GAA.

A huge well done to all the participants for attending the course, and for successfully achieving their Level 1 award!

Limerick Schools Coaching

St Patricks NS are the latest school to receive coaching from Limerick county goalkeeper Laura O’Neill during part 1 of the all-girls school’s project in the city.

 

The girls braved the cold conditions extremely well to show off their skills, and we look forward to teaching them more in the following weeks!
