Details announced for the 2015 Liberty Insurance GAA Coaching Conference – 'Putting Youth into Perspective' on Friday 9th and Saturday 10th January in Croke Park
Following on from the success of the 2014 Conference – which focused on issues related to the development of the child player – the 2015 Conference will focus on issues related to the Youth Player (aged 13 – 18 years).
Friday, January 9th will see the first Coach Education forum in the GAA. This event will outline the future of coach development, and is a must see event for anyone concerned with the development of our coaches. Saturday, January 10th will be a combination of key note addresses, parallel discussions and a players forum which will focus on 'Putting Youth into Perspective'

130 boys and girls from Fermanagh who attended P4/5 hurling/camogie blitz in Castle Park Lisnaskea. Blitzes took place in 4 venues across Fermanagh with a total of 540 boys and girls playing hurling and camogie.

Camán Get a Grip Connacht
17 coaches have attended a foundation course in Hyde Park Roscommon over the last 2 weeks. Mayo has also hosted a foundation course with 12 coaches completing the Camán Get a Grip course held in Ballyvary National School. This is a total of 29 coaches who will receive their Camán Get a Grip certicficate in the coming weeks. Yvonne Byrne RDO for Connacht tutored on the courses.

Kildare Academy and Lifestyle Programme:
Kildare Camogie are currently running an academy programme for under 15’s.
This programme is being held for a 6 week period and focuses on improving the technical, tactical, physical and lifestyle capacity of the girls. The past 3 Saturdays has seen more than 100 girls in Kildare taking part in the programme.
On Friday the 7th of November all the girls took part in the first part of their lifestyle programme. The girls were put through an injury prevention and body conditioning workshop. The girls performed basic strength and conditioning exercises suitable for their age, with the main focus on correct technique and injury prevention.
After the body conditioning the girls took part in a group discussion outlining the importance of good nutritional habits when playing sport. The lifestyle programme took part in Naas and was facilitated by Elizabeth Byrne from Kilkenny. Kildare Camogie would like to thank all coaches who have continued to help every week with the sessions.

Laois TY Course
Transition Year Students from Scoil Chriost Rí Portlaoise took part in the Camogie foundation course. 29 students took part in the course which will be used as part of their Gasice Programme.
The participants from the course will now use the skills learned to coach in their local clubs and also in the school with younger students.
The TY foundation Course covers a number of topics including, the role of a coach, skill development, fundamentals and communication skills. Thanks to the TY Coordinator Anne Dollard and also to the camogie trainers Maria Walsh (Cork Senior Camogie player) and Kieran Barron (Kilkenny) who are working endlessly on the promotion of Camogie in the Portlaoise Schools.

Dublin Workshop
Damien Young tutored on a workshop in Naomh Peregrines Dublin on the 10th of November with 15 coaches taking part in the session. The session entitled ‘Effective coaching Aids’ focused on the use of coaching aids with a special focus on the use of a pole trainer.

Ulster level 1 Camán Get Hooked Coaching Course
19 coaches from 4 counties Derry, Donegal, Down and Tyrone attended the Level 1 Coaching course on Castledawson Derry last weekend. Plenty of discussion, coaching ideas and problem solving was carried out by the coaches over the Friday, Saturday and Sunday and although it was a long weekend all agreed it was a very worthwhile coaching course. Thanks to Catherine Pickering and Caroline Wilson for their help in co-ordinating the course and to tutors Siobhan Poulter and Ger Gribben for delivering the course.

Armagh Games for Indoor Camogie Workshop
25 coaches from the Derrynoose, Aghagallon, Middletown, Naomh Brid, Crossmaglen and Clontibret (Monaghan) attended this workshop on 'Games for Indoor Camogie' on November 11th last. The workshop was delivered by Camogie regional development Officer Ger Gribben. Thanks to the Derrynoose club and in particular Geraldine Quinn for hosting and helping to co-ordinate the workshop.

A primary school indoor blitz took place in Aughrim on the 7th November last. This Blitz covered the South of the county with another to be organised in the west & east. The Blitz organised by GAA with RDO Eve Talbot assisting in the running of the event.
