Ellen Minihan Memorial Night in aid of the Cormac McAnallen Trust for Sudden Cardiac Death

St.Marks Intermediate camogie team hosted a Memorial night on Saturday 25th of July 2009 in aid of the Cormac McAnallen Trust For Sudden Cardiac Death. The night was a huge success with over 500 people in attendance and over 800 tickets sold. The final amount raised was €11,670.

 

The money raised will help deal with the following issues:

 
* To raise awareness of sudden cardiac deaths in young people, and its causes;

* To promote cardiac screening for young people, especially for athletes;

* To provide education and information to raise awareness at government level and among other authorities as to the value of providing facilities for the screening of young people;

* To provide automated external defibrillators (AEDs) for sports clubs in the local region, for the use of the entire local community, and to train people in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and the use of defibrillators.

 

St.Marks Intermediate Camogie team would like to thank all who helped support the night by buying tickets or donating prizes.
