St Patrick’s Keady collected the Ulster Colleges’ Fr Davies’ Cup yesterday with a sound team performance against St Colm’s Draperstown in Eglish yesterday.
Goalie Roisin Hughes got plenty to do, but coped admirably, while Hanna McGeown marshalled her defence, with Michelle Morgan and Amy McBirney working hard in midfield and Kirsty Sheridan converting that effort into scores up front.
St Colm’s also had a good goalie and the likes of Bronagh McGillan and Paula McElwee more than held their own, but they simply couldn’t break down Keady’s back-line.
Keady set the pace from early on and, despite a goal from Charlene Scullion, were in control until 10 minutes from the end when Draperstown camped out in their half but only pulled back 1-1.
St Patrick’s : Kirsty Sheridan 1-5, Rachel Merry 1-1, Jane Lavery 1-1, Michelle Morgan 0-1.
St Colm’s : Charlene Scullion 2-0, Catherine Mc Bride 0-1, Bronagh McGillan 0-1, Aine Kelly 0-1
