Galway city players were invited to attend the Galway City Academy in Pearse Stadium from Tuesday the 10th August to Thursday the 12th August.
This Academy was open to girls aged 13, 14 and 15 years.
21 girls in total attended from 3 clubs in Galway city-Liam Mellows, Castlegar and Salthill.
Each girl received a ‘Camogie Rocks!’ T-shirt at the end of the three days.
The academy provided top of the range skills coaching by qualified Camogie coaches and intercounty players, specialised skills coaching, nutritional advice and talks from intercounty players.
Thanks to Bernie O Connor and the Galway GAA for use of Pearse Stadium. The girls really enjoyed playing there and it was a great opportunity for them. Thanks to Katie O Dwyer (Camogie Scholarship recipient) for coaching and to Orla Kilkenny and Sandra Tannian from the Galway senior team who coached and provided advice over the 3 days of the Academy.
