The sun shone on between 150 and 200 boys and girls who attended a workshop with stars of the game in Athenry last weekend. Players from a range of clubs listened to the stars of the game give advice and tips on goalkeeping, free taking and side line cuts. All players got a chance to practice the skills and get feedback from Galway players including Joe Canning, Ger Farragher, Susan Earner, Stephanie Gannon, Colm Callanan and James Skehill.
A number of coaches attended also with pen and paper to hand to take down a sample of drills that the players performed in order to improve their specialist skills.
Thanks to Damien Coleman Hurling Development in Galway for organisation of the day and to all the club players who attended and took part in the session. Thanks to the coaches who attended and to the County players for imparting their knowledge and experience to both players and coaches.
