Great news for the North West region of Leitrim as new Camogie club Camogaíocht na nGleannta has been formed. The girls started to get a taste for the game due to the massive interest of hurling in the community and so Camogaíocht na nGleannta Camogie club was formed to give these girls the opportunity to participate in Camogie. At present the club caters for U10, U12 and U14 age groups and they hope to expand this in the coming years as the interest in the game is constantly growing.
Huge credit must be given to Steve Feeney as he has been the driving force behind the creation of this club. Steve is passionate about the game of Hurling and Camogie and is looking forward to the challenge ahead:
“As a new club in the north west of Ireland it is difficult with very few teams around us for competition, but with perseverance and with the great group of girls we have, I have no doubt we will strive for success.”
Training takes place every Tuesday evening in St Clares N.S. Astroturf, Manorhamilton from 6pm-7pm. New members always welcome.
