Carlow came out in the second half a different team, they looked more on their game and made alot of the play, they pushed harder for their scores, where as Meath had to play more of a defensive roll as Carlow grew in strength.  Meath’s Ellen Burke defended very well in the second half playing some ball very intelligently out of the back line. Carlow had a goal in the back of the Meath net within the first three minutes of the second half and Meath got the next score a point from Shone White unfortunately for Meath this was their only score for the remainder of the game.  Carlow’s Katie O’Byrne got three more points for her team and Alison Rutchitzko for Carlow got Carlow’s second goal midway into the second half.  Meath did try hard to get the ball up field with wing half forward Chloe Coyne playing well.  Carlow’s centre field players were very strong Katie O’Byrne impressed on number of occasions. Meath did come close in the last 10 minutes to grabbing a point or two but luck was just not on their side.  Meath’s goalie Cathy Gilbin made an outstanding save in the last 5 minutes when she dived across the goal to make a great save.  Carlow won out on the day with a one goal advantage.
