24 Hurl with Me Programmes are getting underway in locations all around the country this week.  It is part of National programme which involves a 6 week schedule where a tutor provides parents in the club with training in the basic skills of the game. They can then practise these skills with their daughter at home. The programme also aims to increase the number of volunteers in the club. A national day for the clubs will take place in Dublin on Saturday 6th June where parents and daughters will get involved in fun activities on the day.

Last chance to enter Camán to Connacht and Camán to Ulster Days
This Friday the 24th April is the closing date for applications for the Camán to Connacht and Camán to Ulster days. Under 12 teams from Ulster and Connacht are invited to register for the events. teams that register for their provincial day will enter the draw to play in Croke Park in July. Register your club below.

Galway Go Games Mixed Blitz
The first combined club Go games Blitz took place in Craughwell, Galway on Saturday 18th April. 85 girls took part in total form Craughwell, Liam Mellows, Tuam and Turloughmore Clubs. All girls were combined and mixed up for the blitz on the day which allowed them to bond with new team mates from different clubs.

Tullysaran Camogie Club hosted an U12 Go Games blitz on Saturday the 18th April also with 60 girls from 5 clubs competed in the glorious sunshine – Tullysaran, Madden, Keady, Collegeland & Mullaghbawn. Well done to all the players & coaches who took part.

Boys and girls from St Marys Newtonbutler, Bunscoil na Traonaigh, St Marys Teemore and St Ronan’s Lisnaskea took part in Fermanagh coaching and games blitz in Lisnaskea Emmett’s.

Wexford Hurl with Me Tutor Training
On Monday the 20th 12 coaches from Wexford took part in a training programme for clubs who want to run a Mum & Me/Hurl with me programme. The coaches/coordinators were given all information needed to hold a successful course to help increase the number of new coaches with their clubs. The participants also learned the basics of "coaching the coaches" and the importance of getting coaches to follow the IDEAL principal when coaching specific skills.

22 under 14 girls attended an easter skills camp in Carrig Offaly for 2 days. Well done to all involved in the camp.

Derry Goalkeeping Workshop
Goalkeepers from Castledawson, Dungannon and Lavey where put through their paces working on fundamentals of Goalkeeping. During the session the keepers worked on first touch, catching, reactions, footwork, narrowing the angle, shot stopping and puck outs. Thanks to coaches who attended the session pictured below.

Camán to Thurles taking place this Saturday 25th April
48 under 12 club teams from Munster will take part in the Camán to Thurles day in Semple Stadium this Saturday the 25th April. Each team will bring a young referee to obtain refereeing experience on the day. Best wishes to all clubs travelling to Semple Stadium on the day.
 
 
Armagh Cumann na mBunscol Blitz
A super day of Camogie and Hurling for Armagh Cumann na mBunscol schools was held in Middletown GAA pitches on Friday 17th April. There were 150 girls and 120 boys participating from 16 schools. Development day in Bearna/Furbo Galway
A coaching & development day was held in Bearna/Furbo Galway on Sunday 19th April last with 88 girls in total taking part in the day organised by Connacht provincial Development Officer Gerry Dolan. Well done to all the girls who took part and to the coaches Mike Butler, David Keane, Mairead Crotty, John Donovan and all others who helped out on the day.
