DIVSION 2 NATIONAL LEAGUE,
Cork 3-12, Waterford 3-5.
The first half was a fairly close affair as both teams were well matched with the score being Cork 1-5 to Waterford 1-3 at the break.
The second half began with Cork coming out with all guns blazing with them scoring one goal and one point with in the first five minutes. Cork kept plugging away scoring points from frees and play widening the gap when Kate Marie Aherne hit the back of the Cork net after twenty minutes. At his stage Waterford seemed to be coming back into the game more.
Cork fought back and further points were scored. A third goal put them well ahead. However, Waterford refused to lie down and Kate Marie Aherne struck the back of the Cork net with Aine Lyng scoring a point in the last five minutes but it proved too little too late for Waterford as Cork seemed to be the fitter team on the day.
The next round of the league is on Sunday next March 23rd where Waterford will be playing away to Kilkenny.
