The Inaugural Junior Club Tournament in association with the Imperial Hotel Tralee took place last Saturday Oct 22nd in Tralee with Limerick club Kileedy, and the two new Kerry clubs Clanmaurice and Lixnaw participating.
Despite a last minute pitch switch to Caherslee Training Grounds, due to Austin Stack Park becoming waterlogged overnight,the three teams played out their games in horrendous conditions with Clanmaurice and Kileedy reaching the final.
Clanmaurice won their first piece of silverware on a scoreline of 3-6 to 1-0.
Great celebrations took place in the Imperial Hotel later that evening as Kerry legend Darragh O’Se presented Clanmaurice captain Una Flynn with the Cup, which along with the evenings entertaiment was kindly sponsored by Olive Sheehan from the Sheehan Hotel Group.
It is hoped to make this an annual event with April next year as a possible timeframe. Details will be sent to all county boards in the New Year, all junior clubs welcome!
