Torpey Hurleys to sponsor Camogie Schools of Excellence

Torpey Hurleys are the title sponsor of the Camogie Association 2011 Schools of Excellence. The Clare based hurley manufacturing company confirmed a one year partnership of the initiative.

This year’s Schools of Excellence Activity Day will take place in Croke Park on Monday July 4th.

The Schools of Excellence were founded in 2003 and focus upon the development of young camogie players, aged 14 and under. The programme concludes with an annual activity day in Croke Park at which eight counties participate.

Speaking about the announcement President of the Camogie Association Joan O’Flynn:

“”The Camogie Association is pleased to announce that Torpey Hurleys are the title sponsor of our Schools of Excellence. The Schools of Excellence prioritise the development of young camogie players nationwide and as a top quality initiative it is an excellent alignment with Torpey Hurleys.

We look forward to working now and into the future with a company which is steeped in sport and has been a strong supporter of Gaelic games and in particular camogie down through the years.””

Speaking about the sponsorship, MD Torpey Hurleys, John Torpey:

“”Torpey Hurleys are delighted to come on board as the title sponsor for the Schools of Excellence 2011.

This is an extremely important initiative and one of the key highlights on the Camogie calendar annually for young players, coaches and their families. We are proud to assist in the ongoing and enthusiastic development work for young camogie players.
