A very successful Connacht Officer Training event was held recently with workshops on finance; public relations and a presentation on the new Connacht Camogie website amongst the items on the agenda.

Connacht Camogie Council organised a number of very informative officer training courses in the last month. Maeve Healy, Development Officer with Connacht Camogie Council organised a number of free workshops funded through the Connacht Development plan. In total, 87 participants from 28 different clubs took part in the two night event.

The courses took place in Tuam and in Loughrea. Chairperson, Secretary and Registrar training took place on one night with Treasurer and PRO workshops on another night in both locations. Officers from Galway, Mayo and Roscommon attended the training nights. 
 

Marie O Brien, the newly elected chairperson of Connacht Council and Catherine Hoare presented the workshops for Chairpersons and Secretaries while Sandra O Donovan, Secretary of Galway County Camogie board delivered the workshops for Registrars.

Claire Egan, Communications and Marketing Director for the Camogie Association delivered the PRO training while Geraldine Beatty Greene from Roscommon presented the workshop for treasurers.

Colm Beirne provided an overview of the Connacht Camogie website (to be launched on March 23rd). Further details are to be announced shortly.

Finally, clubs that had four or more officers attending the workshops were put into a draw for a set of juvenile jerseys. The jerseys were won on the night by the Sarsfields club in Galway.
