Meath gave them a shock when they scored a soft goal two minutes into the game before the backs and goalkeeper had settled. Offaly got back into the game with an opening point from Laura Dooley. Orla Murray with some accurate free taking drew them level, the first half closed with another point from Meath and one from Niamh Clancy for Offaly. Half-time score Meath 1 -1 Offaly 0 – 4.
