Following the Camogie Association’s ‘Feedback Forum’ held in April and the rule change approved at the Association’s Annual Congress also in April, to allow for greater experimentation regarding playing rules, the Association is progressing a number of areas related to player engagement and the development of playing rules.
A Rules Revision Working Group has been established, chaired by former GAA President Liam O’Neill. This group will consult with key stakeholders, and produce a report and recommendations to the Association’s Ard Chomhairle in October. Their remit is to review the playing rules in the context of the development of the game, increased conditioning levels of players in recent years and to propose trial rules and recommendations as to how they may be trialled in various competitions.
Suggestions, ideas and inputs are welcomed from all interested parties. Please send your contribution as soon as possible to feedback@camogie.ie
The Association is also in the process of establishing a Player Engagement Working Group, chaired by Shirley Moloney, Cork Camogie PRO. This group will make recommendations regarding player engagement across all levels of Camogie, including Juvenile, Adult Club and Adult Intercounty players in all competitions.
