The annual M Donnelly Poc Fada Finals take place at the Annaverna Mountain, Dundalk, Co. Louth this coming Saturday 1st August.

Patricia Jackman of Waterford will be attempting to make history by winning her seventh M Donnelly Camogie Poc Fada title in a row. The decorated camogie star will, however, face strong competition from the four provincial winners Ulster’s Catherine McGourty, Connacht’s four time Poc Fada winner Catríona Daly, Leinster’s Elaine Gallery, Munster’s Aisling Corbett along with last year’s Soaring Star goalkeeper Laura Dunne of Laois.

Meanwhile in the M Donnelly Under 16 All-Ireland Poc Fada will see Ulster’s Annemarie Smyth, Connacht’s Sarah Healy, Leinster’s Ciara O’Looney and Munster’s Áine O'Loughlin competing for the prestigious title.

Speaking at the launch Uachtarán an Cumann Camógaíochta, Catherine Neary said: “It is great for camogie to once more be part of the annual Poc Fada Finals, in what is a fantastic test of skill and athleticism to the game set against the spectacular backdrop of the Cooley Mountains. This is the 12th year of camogie taking part in the Poc Fada Finals and I hope that we have another hard fought and exciting competition once more this year.”
