Other relevant Information
ò I have been involved in camogie continuously since I started playing at the age of 10.
ò I have been involved at club level as a player, mentor, referee, trainer and selector.
ò I retired from playing in 2010 but continue to participate in training with my club.
ò I was a member of a very successful St. Munna’s team which won 18 Senior County Championships in 19 yrs.
ò At County level l have held many administrative roles, and have been instrumental in the setting up of new clubs in Westmeath and Longford.
ò At Provincial level, l have been the Leinster League Coordinator, coordinating the league which has grown from 19 teams in its first year (2007) to 36 teams in 2010.
ò At National level, l have been a member of the National Referees Committee for 8 years, and have previously acted as Secretary. The Committee has overseen great improvements to our Refereeing standards, and has introduced Fitness Tests ensuring consistent fitness standards of our referees, and an Assessment Programme for Inter-County Referees.
ò I represented the Camogie Association at the North American Games in Chicago in 2010.
If l am successful in my bid to become the next Uachtarßn Tofa, among my aims for the future of the Association are the following:-
ò Ensure all parts of the Association work together to implement the National Development Plan to time frame.
ò Increase the profile of Camogie in the local and national media.
ò Setting up County Boards in Counties where they don’t exist.
ò Increase membership by encouraging the formation of new Camogie clubs, particularly in areas where Hurling is already played.
ò Increase the proportion of female referees.
ò Support our current membership in Irish Communities abroad and encourage continued participation in the game abroad by new emigrants.
ò Support our Volunteers, recognizing their integral role and their contribution to our Association.
ò Support and train County, and Club officers in their administrative roles.
ò Encourage the retainment of members through our Player Pathway Programme.
