We take a look at this weekend's crucial clashes in the Liberty Insurance All-Ireland Senior Championship Quarter-Finals:
Preview – Liberty Insurance All-Ireland Senior Championship Quarter-Finals
Saturday July 30th
Liberty Insurance All-Ireland Senior Championship Quarter-Finals
Wexford v Tipperary
Walsh Park, Waterford
Referee: Éamon Cassidy
After a good Liberty Insurance All-Ireland Championship campaign so far this year, winning four out of their five games in the group stages, Wexford will be looking to build on their performances on Saturday. Having reached the All-Ireland Semi-Final last year and losing out narrowly to Galway, they will be hoping they can perform well and improve on last year.
An up and coming side over the last couple of years, Tipperary will be looking to progress further than the All-Ireland Quarter-Final which they achieved last year. However, they only won one of their four games in the group stage of the Championship so they will need to work hard against a strong Wexford side on Saturday.
Kilkenny v Offaly
MacDonagh Park, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary
Referee: Cathal Egan
National League Champions this year, Kilkenny will be hoping that they can stop Cork in their search for three-in-a-row. With three wins from four in the group stages, Kilkenny will have a tough task ahead of them against a strong Offaly side. After losing out to Cork in last year’s Semi-Final, Kilkenny will be hoping they can build on their performances and make the Final this year.
After a strong group campaign Offaly have had four wins from five so far this year. They will be full of confidence going into their Quarter-Final clash with Kilkenny and will be hoping to cause an upset and progress in this year’s Championship. Having never won the O’Duffy Cup, this is what they will be ultimately aiming for.
*Extra-time to be played in the event of a draw in either game.
The Semi-Finals will take place on Saturday August 13th in Nowlan Park, Kilkenny and will be broadcast live on RTÉ One.
