Sunday, February 21st – Irish Daily Star National League Division 1 Previews
 
Division 1 Group 1
 
Offaly V Dublin
Dublin come into the 2016 season following a strong showing in the 2015 All-Ireland Championship where they reached the Quarter-Final stage. Offaly under their new manager Adrian Clancy will be looking to improve on a disappointing 2015 season where they failed to advance from their group in the All-Ireland Championship.

Tipperary V Galway
2015 League champions Galway, under the stewardship of their new manager Ollie Bergin, will be looking to maintain their dominance in this competition, which they won by defeating eventual All-Ireland winners Cork in the Division 1 Final. Tipperary will be looking to improve upon their 2016 season which ended in defeat at the All-Ireland Quarter-Final stage to eventual champions Cork.

Wexford V Clare
Wexford will be looking to build on a strong showing in 2016 which saw them narrowly miss out on an All-Ireland Final place, losing by a single point to Galway. Clare meanwhile have a new manager in Patricia O’Grady, and they will be looking to improve on a disappointing All-Ireland championship in which they failed to advance from their group stage.

Division 1 Group 2
 
Kilkenny V Derry
Kilkenny head into their first match under new management including former All-Ireland winner Ann Downey. They will be heavily fancied as they face a Derry side who will be out to cause an upset on the opening weekend of the season.

Limerick V Cork
All-Ireland champions Cork will be looking to go one further in the League in 2016, where they lost out in the Division One final to Galway in 2015. New Limerick manager John Tuohy will be looking for a positive result against the Rebels which would be a huge step in the side’s progression at this level.
