QUEENS KNOCK OUT HOLDERS D I T IN PURCELL CUP

Queens Camogs played Purcell Cup holders D I T in the grounds of Dundalk College and came away with a good win which sees them through to the Purcell Cup.

Q U B started the game really quickly and Sinead Cassidy hit the net after 11 seconds. Queens followed but with  quick points from Captain Colette Mc Sorlry. D I T hit back with two frees from Joelenne Henry.  Q U B added three more points and looked in control before a long ball from Jane Dolan and a mix up in the Queens backline allow D I T to goal. Queens hit back with two points from Donnelly and Cassidy and led by three at the break.  Harsh words from Queens Manager Joe Baldwin seemed to work as Q U B goaled after 10 seconds on the restart Mc Sorley finishing Cassidys run. Baldwin introduced College All Stars Siobhan Mc Kaigue and Derry Minor Captain Elish Ni Chasidie and this tightened their grip on the match, good ball into the forwards allowed Mc Courty and Mc Aleese along with Keelin Bradley to point with ease. Queens went 15 points clear and the match seem to be over but  the Queens defence were penetrated and two goals from D I T in the last 6 mins  made the score board respectable. Una Kearney blow the final whistle as Queens won 4.12 to 3.05.

Queens now  advance to the semi final and meeting with Tralee IT.
