Sinead O’Connor appointed Ard Sti·rth¾ir

SinÚad O’ Connor has been appointed Ard St·irth¾ir of the Camogie Association following an intensive selection process. She will take over the role with immediate effect. She previously held the position of Finance and Sponsorship Manager with the Association.

A Chartered Accountant by profession, she is a graduate of the University of Scranton and the Smurfit School of Business. Prior to joining the Camogie Association she was with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Dublin and was seconded to PWC in San Jose, California for a spell. On her appointment she said “”I look forward to taking on the role of Ard Sti·rth¾ir with the Camogie Association.  It is an exciting time for camogie with unprecedented growth in the numbers playing the game.  The ultimate aim of the Association is to bring Camogie to as many young girls as possible.   It is vital to foster a good working relationship between our thousands of volunteers and the dedicated full-time team working for Camogie.””  

On announcing the appointment, Liz Howard President of the Camogie Association said “”SinÚad O Connor is the ideal person to lead a very vibrant and focused fulltime team together with the many committed volunteers who will further develop and grow camogie in a challenging environment. She has many skills, a fantastic work ethic and the potential to make a significant contribution in her new role.””
