Lynne Cantwell, Women’s High-Performance Manager with South Africa Rugby and Nora Stapleton, Women in Sport Lead with Sport Ireland discuss the importance of organised sport and barriers to lifelong participation, balancing a competitive and fun environment and the role of parents and coaches in creating that environment to help retain women in sport.
Episode 2 – Healthy Habits Around Nutrition & Hydration with Emma Brennan
Emma Brennan, Academy Performance Nutritionist with Connacht Rugby, talks about what parents need to know around Nutrition and Hydration for their child and how coaches can support players as well as the importance of language and how we talk to female players about nutrition.
Episode 3 – The Young Female Athlete with Catriona O’Halloran and Ciara O’Flynn
Catriona O’Halloran and Ciara O’Flynn, who are both Team Leads with Anytime of the Month, give insight for parents and coaches on periods and period poverty and supporting players when it comes to creating a safe and open environment for them to talk about periods.

Orlaith Curran, a PhD Student in DCU and Athletic Development Coach with the IRFU, chats about what burnout is and what to look out for in our Youth Players. Orlaith also gives insight into its role in dropout and practical advice on how to avoid burnout.

Rena Buckley, a Chartered Physiotherapist and 18 time All Ireland winner with Cork Camogie and LGFA, discusses the most prevalent injuries and how we can reduce the risk of them occurring. Rena also chats about the importance of recovery when it comes to injuries and performance and gives practical strategies to help support recovery.
